The mod team on does not want this information out in the community. Gotta love that BDO censorship.TLDR:. Black Desert Online (BDO) Game Masters (GMs) do NOT ban for account sharing.
BDO Nomura is a strong option for those who already have an existing BDO account. Like First Metro Sec, you don’t need to deposit an initial balance if you’re a BDO account holder. You can also complete the whole registration process online. How to open a BDO Nomura Account Step-by-Step.
No, you cannot charge back on pearls used via your bank, Paypal, or financial institution anymore. If you reclaim an account sold on PlayerAuctions.com (PA), there are no repercussions. No, Player Auctions will not contact the game masters incase the account you purchased was reclaimed by the seller in order to have it banned (as they claim they will in their policy). Do not use player auctions.See below for the full story & screenshots. There is nothing further I can do. Hopefully my experience and this information will save you from making the same mistakes I did. Supporting links are provide, otherwise google it yourself.
Feel free to comment, ask questions, and dm for anything I can clarify/update..cracks fingers.Account sharing and buying/selling accounts in BDO is pretty common among the higher tier players (NW & siege players). While these actions are against terms of service, people still do it and apparently it's acceptable in Korea. Between burnout, rn-jesus is not with you, mortgaging your house to buy more artisan memes, or needing to reroll because you're not a witch/wizard; there are plenty of reasons to quit the game. The constant need to always be logged in for workers, afk money, and login rewards made account sharing more widespread. Therefore a surplus of accounts exist for purchase.I purchased an account from PlayerAuctions.com in January, also paid for insurance too.
I raised the account to softcap-ish and was in the NW/siege scene for a while. We took T3s and held a few territories. I put a ton of hours in leveling, gearing, and setting up the worker empire. Did those Calpheon dailies and got that juicy 1 second cook time to get 330+ cp.
It took forever to get urgons but they went to tet first try. Life was good. Fast forward to June 1, 2018. The seller and original creator of the account reclaimed the account. According to BDO's policy on email changing:, only one person in the world can change the email on a BDO account with the use of their government issued photo ID. Below is a screenshot confirming the email was changed from mine.( TLDR #1 Explained) As of earlier this week, the account is still online and active. I created a new account to see if the account was online and it was.
I still talk with my old guild mates and they tell me that the account is still running around the siege scene. Buying and selling accounts is a form of account sharing, but BDO does not ban for it. They can see the IP address when someone logs into an account. It would be strange to suddenly see it go from one side of the of the world to the other. It would also be strange to see the email on an account change so often within a short period of time.I do have a copy of the seller's ID and tried to change the email back myself, however it did not work. I think the GMs wised up to what was going on and denied the request. The guy also saved the financial information he used to buy pearls.
Guy is still using his mom's credit card, smh. No, I did not use it.
Luck him I'm a nice guy.( TLDR #2 Explained) The BDO GMs could no longer assist me, so I decided to charge back through my bank and see where that would get me. Turns out, Pearl Abyss will send receipts of pearls purchased and what you used them to buy in game. Very detailed and a lot paper.
Kudos to BDO for wanting to keep every penny. Also, I do not believe the rumor that BDO will lock an account that charges back since the account is still active. Then again, I did not win any of the charge backs other than a $10 one. For privacy reasons, I will not include the receipts BDO provided to my bank. My accountant is already hardcore judging me for how much I've spent on this game.So I turned my attention to PA and use the insurance I purchased incase the account was ever reclaimed by the seller. That insurance is useless. PA does not care if you have it and they do not address it when you tell them you bought it.
I told them that the account I purchased was reclaimed by the seller and provided the email conversations with the BDO GMs. Their response:NOTE: Check the dates, it takes PA weeks to respond. Here is the most important point. ( TLDR #3 Explained) As you can see from above, no matter what evidence you provide, it is impossible to tell whether the seller is the original owner and creator of the BDO account. PA cannot hold the seller responsible for the original owner reclaiming an account. Since PA can't distinguish whether the seller and original owner are the same person, they cannot hold the seller responsible for an account being reclaimed. It does not matter to them that the email on a BDO account can only be changed by one person, it is not enough evidence to explicitly determine that seller is responsible for the loss of access.( TLDR #4 Explained) PA will not be contacting BDO any time soon to let them know the account you purchased was reclaimed and that they should ban it.
Frankly, why would they. PA is essentially running an illegal operation of account trading against BDO ToS. In order to gain access to the information PA requests when you submit a ticket saying your purchase was reclaimed, you must admit to the BDO GMs that you essentially bought an account and violated ToS. As you can see below, PA is pretty sneaky.( TLDR #5) PA will stop responding or send a generic response if you try to charge back or if you ask for their legal department's contact info. They simply do not care. They have your money. I heard a rumor that PA has people that sell accounts and reclaims them later down the road to exploit the loop hole mentioned above for monetary gain.
There are other reddit posts that talk about how PA protects scammers. So who knows, the tin foil hat might be on a little too tight but there is definitely something sketchy going on here. Buyer beware. Thanks for making it this far! Hopefully you found this information useful. Please feel free to comment, ask questions, and dm me if you want.
